# Cancel a One Time or Recurring Scheduled Task

***One Time Tasks***: Unlike a Recurring Scheduled Task, a One Time Scheduled Task must be canceled via the Task History tab as it is not possible to cancel a One Time Scheduled Task via the Scheduled Tasks tab.

{% hint style="info" %}
You can only cancel Recurring tasks that have a Not Started or Received status from the Task History tab (Active, Completed and Failed tasks will be ignored).
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/3SyBltBS8AVvq5u6QaOJ" alt=""><figcaption><p>Cancel a One Time Scheduled Task</p></figcaption></figure>

1. Navigate to **Tasks** ![](/files/NQ91YjfzIVAR5nt6Z71J).
2. Select the **Task History** tab.
3. Select a One Time Task from the list.
4. Click the **CANCEL TASK** button.
5. A confirmation will appear, click **YES** to confirm.

{% hint style="success" %}
The selected One Time or Recurring Task will now be cancelled and removed from Scheduled Tasks list (it will remain in the Task History for auditing purposes).
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.faronics.com/faronicsdeploy/tasks/scheduled-tasks/cancel-a-one-time-or-recurring-scheduled-task.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
