# Organize Computers Using Inventory Data
A computer can be assigned to a group based on criteria in the Inventory section.
### Assign Computers to a Group Based on Inventory Criteria
1\. Select the **Control Grid** tab on the top menu bar.
2\. Navigate to the **Inventory** tab.
3\. Enable the **View Search and Filte**r switch (blue is enabled).
4\. Choose your filter type by clicking the search icon
on one of the filter grids, then select an option from the drop-down menu, **Contains**, **Does** **not** **Contain**, **Starts** **With**, **Ends** **With**, **Equals**, **Does** **not** **equal**, or **Reset**.
Enter the filter criteria, **LENOVO**, in this example.
5\. Select the **Computer Name** column header.
6\. Click the **SELECT ALL COMPUTERS** button.
7\. Click the **Change Group** drop-down menu and select a Group from the list.
8\. Click the blue confirmation button to the right of the **Change Group** menu.
