Group Computers Using a Naming Convention

To group the computers using a naming convention, follow the steps below:
1. Select the Control Grid tab on the top menu bar.
2. Navigate to the Applications tab.
3. Enable the Use Search and Filter (from the Grid Options menu).
4. Locate computers that have a common identifier in your naming convention, e.g., if your computers were named Desktop1, Desktop2, Desktop3, etc., then you could enter Desk in the search bar, click search and the list will appear with the search criteria highlighted.
5. Select the column header Computer Name; the ACTION TOOLBAR will now appear.
6. Click the SELECT ALL COMPUTERS button.
If a computer is offline, it will not be included in the selected computers on the ACTION TOOLBAR.
7. Click the drop-down box under Change Group.
8. Select the name of the group to add the computers to from the list.
The computer(s) will now be successfully added to the group.
9. Click the button to the right-hand side to confirm the action of adding the computers to the group.
