Web Filtering

Teachers have the option to block all websites, allow only specified websites, or block only specified websites. They can also choose to restrict Private/Incognito Browsing.

Chrome/Edge web extension must be installed on Student computers to be able to implement this feature.

  1. Click Web Filtering from the left-hand menu.

  2. Select one of the following:

    • Prohibit all Websites – This option blocks all web browsing, instant messaging, and e-mail programs.

    • Permit Students to access specific websites – This option allows you to type in a list of blocked websites when Focus Web is enabled.

      • Click + Add Website and enter the full URL of the web page in the text field.

    • Prohibit Students from accessing specific websites – This option allows you to type in a list of blocked websites when Focus Web is enabled.

      • Click + Add Website and enter the full URL of the web page in the text field.

    • Disable Private and Incognito Mode – This option prohibits Students from using the Private Browsing feature and browsing websites using their IP addresses.

  3. Select Disable Private and Incognito Mode option if preferred.

  4. Click Save or Save and Apply.

Disabling Private Mode is not supported in Safari.
