Installing the Insight Connector

The Insight Connector is supported on Windows 8 or higher, macOS 10.13 or higher, and Windows Server 2019 or higher.

The Insight Connector requires that it be installed on a system that is not running the Insight Student or the Insight Teacher Application.

It is recommended that the client system running the Insight Connector be configured with a static IP.

The installation process requires that the InsightInstallerConnector.exe (for Windows) or InsightConnector.pkg (for Mac) application be run on the system with administrative rights. No configuration is required and a simple confirmation message will be displayed when the installation is complete.

Once installed, make note of the IP address, and FQDN or Hostname for the computer running the Insight Connector as this information will be required to configure systems running the Insight Student and Teacher applications properly.

Please note that once installed, the Insight Connector runs in the background without a status icon on the host machine.

The Insight Connector will run on a machine connected via a wireless network connection, however, we do not recommend using a machine on a wireless connection to host the Insight Connector.
